CHURCH

At the end of July, a team of six brothers and sisters from Redeemer Bible Church visited us here in Germany. It was a quick trip, but incredibly encouraging. We had a church day, where our church and people from Redeemer shared each church’s history. Both were stories of God’s grace up to present day and the partnership we now have.

Jonas had an intern, Philip, working with him for five weeks. Philip is studying theology at a seminary in Germany and plans to one day go into ministry. He preached, lead the prayer meeting, read through books with Jonas and got a fun taste of what it looks like to work from home with our two young kids.

Jonas just finished another four-week baptism seminar, and we are excited to baptize one new believer this winter. Our church is currently preaching through the book of Mark. We are still on the hunt for a bigger meeting space.

FAMILY

With very heavy hearts, we share that two weeks ago we lost our baby in Paige’s belly at 15 weeks pregnant. Paige was very sick for three months leading up to this, so we come into this grief already tired and weary. Yesterday we had a small funeral and buried the baby. Weary we come to Jesus, who says He will give us rest.

God continually sustains us. Our hearts remember and are comforted by the hymn, “Whate'er My God Ordains is Right” and the verse from Job 1:21, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”

We’ve received more beautiful bouquets than we have vases, and your prayers have been a great comfort to us as well. At the baby’s size, we needed to bury the baby through a funeral home. Joy comes in the morning. Sweet Nora is loving kindergarten (pre-school) and Fenley is counting down the days until she can join.
